Kleintettau/Piesau/Spechtsbrunn. Every year at the beginning of September, HEINZ-GLAS welcomes new trainees in Kleintettau, Piesau and Spechtsbrunn. This year, a total of 23 new apprentices began their training at HEINZ-GLAS on 2 September. ‘We maintain a consistently high level of new apprentices year after year. This shows that we are an attractive employer for young professionals in the region,’ says Dominik Künzel, Team Leader of the Training Department.
A total of 8 commercial and 15 industrial-technical apprentices started their vocational training at one of the largest employers in the region. HEINZ-GLAS is training a total of 78 young people at its sites in Kleintettau, Piesau and Spechtsbrunn. Particularly in the industrial-technical professions, the internationally active bottle manufacturer is once again relying on a proven concept: instead of traditional job interviews, candidates have the opportunity to get to know the company, the profession and the respective team as part of a trial internship. This concept has proven successful, as it allows both sides to find out whether the profession and the company are a good fit for the applicant.
The success story of the trainee mobile, which can also be used during the taster internship, will continue with the start of the training. 12 of the 23 new trainees will use the service. This means that a total of 34 apprentices will be picked up from their homes by the drivers on their routes and brought to work. The drivers are on the road for around 20 hours a day, covering almost 1,000 kilometres to bring the apprentices safely to work and back home again.
At HEINZ-GLAS, the start of a new career begins with a Welcome Week where apprentices can settle in and get to know each other. In addition to the obligatory clothing, the programme includes a get-to-know-you session with the Group's management, company tours at the Kleintettau and Spechtsbrunn locations, as well as various workshops. Among other things, the apprentices learn the basics of everyday business life in a tutorial-style course called ‘Business Etiquette’. At the European Museum of Flacon Glass, they learn a lot about the history of glassmaking and at the Klein Eden tropical greenhouse, they are introduced to important aspects of sustainability and ecology.
There is also a finance workshop on how to handle training allowances, which helps young people to establish a solid financial footing right from the start.
HEINZ-GLAS is committed to preparing its apprentices not only professionally, but also personally for this important stage in their lives. ‘We want to contribute to the personal development of young people and prepare them for the future in the best possible way,’ says Dominik Künzel.
HEINZ-GLAS will also be offering attractive apprenticeships in 2025. The company warmly welcomes motivated and interested people who want to develop in the region while gaining international experience.
HEINZ-GLAS invites all those interested to get to know the company better at the upcoming vocational training and apprenticeship fairs:
