Kleintettau/Piesau/Spechtsbrunn. Once again, not a single apprenticeship position at HEINZ-GLAS will remain unfilled in 2025: With this year's start of training, the family-owned company based in Kleintettau is once again demonstrating that it is one of the most attractive employers in the region. A total of 21 young career starters began their training on 1 September at the three German locations of the HEINZ-GLAS Group in Kleintettau, Piesau and Spechtsbrunn.
"We are extremely proud that we were able to fill every single training position again this year and that no positions remained vacant. This means that we have been able to meet our targets for the third year in a row. We are committed to providing strong, sustainable and high-quality training at our sites in Upper Franconia and South Thuringia, which provides a stable foundation for our skilled workers and managers of tomorrow," says Dominik Künzel, team leader of the training department.
A total of 4 commercial and 17 industrial-technical trainees thus started a new chapter in their lives with one of the largest employers in the region. HEINZ-GLAS currently trains a total of 76 young people at its sites in Kleintettau, Piesau and Spechtsbrunn. In the industrial and technical professions in particular, the internationally active bottle manufacturer has been relying on a proven concept for several years: instead of traditional job interviews, candidates have the opportunity to get to know the company, the profession and the respective team during a trial internship. This concept has proven successful, as it allows both sides to find out whether the profession and the company are a good fit for the applicant.
Along with the start of training, the success story of the trainee mobile continues, which can also be used during the trial internship. Fifteen of the 21 new trainees will use the service. This brings the total number of trainees picked up from home and taken to work by the drivers on their routes to 38. The drivers are on the road for a total of around 20 hours a day, covering almost 1,000 kilometres to bring the trainees safely to work and back home again.
At HEINZ-GLAS, the start of working life traditionally begins with a Welcome Week to settle in and get to know each other. After getting to know the group management and the company presentation on Monday, Tuesday continued with a tour of the Kleintettau plant, a business kickstart (tutorial for everyday training) and an introduction to quality management. Numerous lectures and workshops are still on the agenda for the rest of the week, including topics such as finance, drug prevention, designovation and CSR & energy. The extensive and varied agenda will be rounded off on Friday with tours of the Thuringian sites in Spechtsbrunn and Piesau. In addition, the new trainees will learn a lot about the history of glass production at the European Bottle Glass Museum, and important aspects of sustainability and ecology will be explained to them at the Klein Eden tropical house.
HEINZ-GLAS is committed to preparing trainees not only professionally but also personally for this important stage in their lives. ‘We want to contribute to the personal development of young people and prepare them for the future in the best possible way,’ says HEINZ-GLAS.
HEINZ-GLAS is also offering attractive apprenticeships for 2026. Motivated and interested individuals who would like to develop their skills in the region while gaining international experience are very welcome. HEINZ-GLAS invites all interested parties to get to know the company better at the upcoming career and training fairs:
