As a family-run business operating globally, we know that genuine environmental protection only works if everyone plays their part. That is why our new sustainability report highlights the achievements of our sites around the world. Here are a few of the highlights we have achieved:
- Major investments in green energy: We are investing in state-of-the-art technologies worldwide. A prime example: by electrifying our melting furnace at our Piesau site (Germany) and implementing targeted energy efficiency measures, we were able to save around 33,000 MWh of energy between 2022 and 2024 – equivalent to the annual consumption of over 11,000 two-person households!
- A strong circular economy: In 2025, we successfully recycled around 85 per cent of our waste across the Group and recovered 12 per cent for energy. This conserves valuable resources – worldwide.
- Responsibility for our employees: Mobility is important to us. In Germany, our ‘Azubi-Mobil’ transport service, covering 1,200 kilometres a day, ensures that our apprentices arrive safely. And for all our other colleagues – no matter which site they’re at – use platforms such as “Pendla” to organise carpooling, save on travel costs and reduce CO₂ emissions together!
